If you are experiencing specific eye health issues or have a known eye condition, it is best to go to an ophthalmologist. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who specialize in eye and vision care, and they can diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including performing surgery if necessary. On the other hand, if you simply need a routine eye exam, prescription for glasses or contact lenses, or have general concerns about your vision, an optometrist would be the appropriate choice. Optometrists are trained to provide primary vision care and can also diagnose and treat some common eye conditions. **

This may involve providing a note from the optometrist or parent/guardian, and notifying the school in advance of the appointment. It is always best to communicate with the school and make arrangements for the missed class time. **
